The creation of the book was edited by Enrico Maltoni and Guido Carli, true enthusiasts of the world of coffee as well as collectors of vintage espresso coffee machines. The book, with a preface by Giuseppe Lavazza, contains the result of a two-year search around the world to discover coffee makers and precious models photographed in the homes of the most important collectors.
An encyclopedia composed of thousands of images accompanied by original documents of the time (patents, catalogs, manuals, advertising postcards, operating diagrams) and detailed technical captions, but also a pleasant reading full of anecdotes never published before.
Coffee Makers contains an analysis of 400 years of history in the world of coffee: from the origins of the drink to the first preparation methods, from traditional models to electric and design coffee machines. The work contains extensive documentation consisting of 2,700 images and 2,080 technical descriptions divided between the various historical periods and the various models analyzed: filter coffee makers, steam pressure machines, mocha, Neapolitan with glass globes, etc. Within the book, it is also possible to obtain documentation with technical operating diagrams and the original patents of the time.
