A quite stunning machine that is one of the best around if not the best. Let us start with a few corrections. The supplied plug was not an ‘English plug’ but continental so an adapter had to be purchased. Neither did the machine come from the UK as advertised. It came directly from Italy. Not a problem as it took less than a week and came packed on its own wooden pallet and the best-packaged parcel I have ever had received! Constant updates on the progress of the parcel were given and it was delivered exactly on time as stated Delonghi have thought about almost everything in the setting up of this machine and it is easy to do and you can programme via the ‘My Coffee’ button on the machine so that the coffee quantity you make is just for you. There are several profiles and each drink can be ‘stored’ under each profile so if there are several in the house or office then that is perfect. As for the actual drinks well, you will need to play around with the settings for a good while until you create your favourite blend/strength so be prepared to set aside an hour or so with a bag of your favourite coffee beans and a carton of milk.It will be time well spent and is nothing different from what you would do on any new machine. Do persevere with the settings as there are many and in the end, you will be very satisfied and it is not complicated and in the end, just set up the machine for your personal use as we all are different. One vast improvement on previous Delonghi machines is that the coffee can be made much hotter than their other machines so a good point if you like hot coffee. This machine really does do what it says and does everything very well. It should do for a machine costing well over £2,000!! There are two points that I found not to my liking as it has no clock, therefore, you cannot programme it to start up in the morning. It will turn itself off, but not on and for a machine costing this amount it should be able to do this. On my old Delonghi Esam, 6900 you could programme (say) coffee for one cup, or two under the ‘my coffee’ button. You can programme the coffee for one cup but not for two so you have to manually press buttons to make a second cup. It is easy enough to do but an option that is missing. That, with no auto startup, has cost it a point. In essence, then a stunning machine that you can ‘tweak’ and adjust to virtually any quantity, the flavour or taste that your heart desires. Just set up the machine to how you desire your drinks be it hot, or cold. milky or chocolate and it will be well worth the time spent in setting these parameters as it will be only for the once doing. It is really impossible to do anything much wrong as the machine will guide you through all you need to do. If you are thinking of buying well, it is about as good as there currently is There are so many useful features that I could write for pages so it is best to go onto the Delonghi web pages and/or look at Youtube videos where you can see it in every action. If the two points I mentioned above are not important to you then you will have the perfect machine. I have used many Delonghi machines over the years and this is the best as yet in terms of being able to prepare your perfect coffee and other drinks.
