DESCRIPTION
This espresso machine is equipped 100% ceramic grinders. Gaggia uses ceramic grinders because of their consistent grind without overheating the coffee bean for an impeccable espresso. Ceramic also ensures long-lasting performance and a totally silent operation. The Gaggia quick heat boiler technology ensures your machine is always ready. Now you won’t have to wait between brewing each espresso, but can prepare coffee after coffee.
With this coffee machine’s Optidose feature you can chose the amount of ground coffee per cup of Espresso from 7,5 to 10g to personalize the strength. Different coffee blends require different levels of granularity for the full flavor to unfold. The grind granularity of this espresso machine can be adjusted in 5 settings, from the finest grind, for a full bodied espresso, to the coarsest, for a lighter coffee. The adjustable spout on our espresso machines will fit every cup and thus prevents the coffee splashing or cooling down while pouring in your cup. This way your espresso is always served at the right temperature while maintaining a clean machine. The removable brewing group in your full-automatic Espresso machine allows for easy cleaning and maintenance and can even be replaced separately if necessary. This saves money and increases the machine hygiene for a flawless coffee taste. Thanks to the automatic cleaning and automatic descaling, you are guaranteed a perfect and hygienic Espresso every day and prolong the lifetime of your Gaggia Espresso machine. Your coffee machine switches off automatically after one hour. In the energy efficient stand-by mode your Gaggia machine will drain less than 1kW/h and save you money compared to other espresso machines. For your convenience, you can put the Gaggia’s drip tray and milk frother or milk carafe in the dishwasher. This will save time and ensure a hygienic cleaning.

So glad I bought this machine after using a Nespresso capsule machine for years and pondering over whether to make the change or not. It’s so easy to use and delivers a brilliant and consistent result every time.

I have just started using my machine so it’s early days but here are my findings so far. 1. It does make very good coffee and that’s the main thing. 2. When switched off the red light blinks constantly which is annoying. A flashing red light usually indicates a fault so this is a strange choice when they could have just made it solid red. 3. The milk frother seems loose but it’s just the way it’s made, I think, but it doesn’t feel right on a quality machine. 4. On reading the manual, it tells you that you need to grease the workings every so often, not something they tell you in the adverts! This grease should have come with the machine, that’s quite a cynical move, I feel. They could just have popped in one tube with the machine, now i need to go hunting for this stuff. On the whole, and remembering that I just got it today, the main thing is that it makes great tasting coffee and that’s the main thing. If it wasn’t for the few tiny niggles that I pointed out, I would have easily given this a 5 star glowing review but this machine falls short because of some basic, bizarre design decisions and questionable build quality in terms of the milk frother. Overall though, I’m very pleased so far and would recommend it but I would also recommend to Gaggia to provide at least one tube of grease with the machine because that would be the decent thing to do.

Have been using my Naviglio for a week now, and really can’t fault it. It’s a classy machine for the money, and makes great espresso, black coffee and frothy milk for cappuccinos, lattes and the like. Not too faffy to use or clean either. Thoroughly recommended!

Absolutely a treat!!!

I went from a separate grinder and espresso machine, I’m now getting through souch more coffee as this machine makes such good coffee by just pressing one button. So easy to use. I wish I’d bought one earlier. It’s worth reading the instructions as there is a recommended weekly clean to do, but it’s really easy to do and will make the machine run better for longer.

Finally a home expresso coffee machine I was dreaming about.

I needed a new machine after my 20 years old Gaggia Syncrony broke down. Yes, the old Syncrony was serving 20 years doing magnificent coffee – so what other brand I could choose? Considering pros the Naviglio is very easy to use, easy to maintenance, well built, silent, good looking and has the auto cleaning cycle each time you turn it on and off. However, on the other hand I have an impression that it’s just far too basic. With the old Syncrony I could set the grinder to extract 30ml in 25 seconds having an espresso almost like in coffee shop, with great aroma and beautiful crema. Naviglio has this 5 grinder settings so it’s not very precise and frankly speaking – none of them is even close to what Syncrony was capable of. You can adjust it beyond the 5 basic settings (change the range of their adjustment) which helped, but still I feel that it’s just not enough. Also, there’s no knob for the steam, only a on/off button that of course gives you far less control over the milk frothing. Having known that I’d probably still try to to repair the old machine or buy something more “professional” or maybe even go back to the portafilter machine. However, that’s just me and I am sort of a coffee freak… I think Naviglio does similar quality as the machine at my work which costs probably 20x more. For average user this is probably good enough.
